★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We boarded for the Walter Peak Station for dinner and enjoyed the ride. The meal at the station was excellent! I enjoyed the farm show afterwards, and the lovely gardens at the station.

It stopped long enough for us to see the farming show too
Dinner was fantastic, much better than any of us expected

Range of brown mountains with it's bit of green and white on top, surrounding the lake.
I was mesmerized in this beautiful scene, when a sudden BONKKKK wake me up and bring me back to the reality.
For a moment I completely forgot that I was inside a boat.
TSS earnslaw is a very classic steamboat. Purchasing tickets riding this boat towards walter peak, crossing wakatipu lake will give you a very classical feelings you never have before.
You can also learn and see how a steamboat operate

The 45 minutes trip (each way) to Walter Peak, onboard the 150 y/o steamer is quite enjoyable, and provide plenty of nostalgia and beautiful sceneries along the way.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very enjoyable experience on the boat. Engine room is open to viewing and watching the 2 triple expansion engines at work is hypnotic. The ship and scenery on the cruise is stunning, friendly staff and a decent cafe bar to boot

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The ride on the steamer was fabulous. We left at dusk and with the fading light the view of the mountains and shimmering lake was amazing. The crew were friendly and veey helpful and made the trip totally enjoyable. It was amazing to see how the Earnslaw works and watched the guys shovelling the coal made you appreciate how hard they work.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Only coal steamboat in the Southern Hemisphere. Beautiful large ship with a storied history. You are welcomed by live grand piano music and free to amble around the ship at your own discretion - you will play musical chairs throughout the journey to ensure you enjoy all parts of the ship!
