The Welcome Bay Hot Pools and Campground is a family owned and operated swimming pool complex and camping ground situated on the outskirts of Tauranga, close to Papamoa and Mount Maunganui in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, one of New Zealand’s favourite holiday destinations.
Your hosts Fraser Berkett and Chris MacKay have been happily running Welcome Bay Hot Pools and Campground for several years now, and live on-site with their family. They take pride in offering guests a friendly family atmosphere and they always go the extra mile to provide a safe and comfortable environment.
It’s important to them that all guests can enjoy a quiet and relaxing stay, and they make sure the modern facilities on the premises are maintained to the highest standards and kept immaculate at all times.
The Welcome Bay Hot Pools and Campground are set in a peaceful natural environment, where the sounds of birdlife abound. Staying at this lovely boutique campground and soaking in the tepid natural mineral pools means tranquillity and being at harmony with nature.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great! They let us check in early and we got a spot under a tree for shade. We were able to charge our devices here and the pool was nice and hot(depending on the time of day) the kitchen area was clean and a decent size, could use another microwave. We did laundry here and they were nice enough to provide us with some detergent for our load. It’s a bit out of the city which is nice (if you have a car). The staff was quite friendly and helpful.

I noticed that there completely empty when I drove down to take my children for a swim saw they are doing vaccine passport thing for a outside activity ? my 12-year-old a “child” cannot go for a swim ?remember they are not mandated they have chosen to do this , So the fact that the pool was empty I don’t feel sorry for their business one bit discriminating against children whether they’ve got a jab or not is wrong Double jabbed but I do not and will not support business doing this to children.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Watched my youngest grandson while he went in the pool. A beautiful place so lovely to just chill out. Next time I go I will be going into the pools. Kids abided by the rules so that was awesome to see. Thank you so much for a perfect day
