β β β β β Nice presentation, really poor execution. So we arrived and were seated quickly. Place looks nice, everything is clean, and menus are cool. After about 10mins we waved down a waiter to take our order - they seemed content to ignore us until then. Drinks took 15min. Entree and main came together and took another 1 hour!!
People that came after us got served before us and apparently it was just because they were busy.
I ordered the steak and mussle bowl. It turns out the steak is literally just a slab of meat completely unmarinated and you're expected to cook and marinate it with table salt and a pepper grinder. Sides of kumara and rosti were pretty basic. Mussles had just been boiled. Sauce was really bad.
After waiting another 15min for a complementary dessert menu (because we waited so long) we gave up.
Don't go here, they don't care about you and the food is basic. Many other places nearby will be better.

β β β β β Food is incredible, cooked to perfection. My sister thought the lobster rail was a little rubbery and bland but other than thag the burgers, chips and steak we ordered was top notch. Worthy of a review from me. ??

β β β β β We came in for dinner the wait times are crazy , we waited for 50 minutes for mains only, after that time we asked when the meals would be ready and were told they were being plated right away. We received 2 meals then waited another 10 minutes while other meals continued to be delivered to other customers and ours never showed. In the end we had to walk out as we had 2 kids who were excited to go on the luge and time was running out. Mr 6 was in tears as we left as he was hungry and worried about missing out on his first luge experience, a less then desirable experience for what was supposed to be an exciting night with friends.

β β β β β Went for a work lunch - we where about 45minutes early but restaurant was not full at all so was ok with the staff. Drinks where faster to get from the counter. Food - entrees where great although mussell pots did not have as many as waitress said (9-12 - only about 6 in each). Meals came, 1 was missed and came late. orders with the seasonal veges and potatoes where all changed to chips and salads - when asked waitress she said cause it was a large group - was not notified of this prior to receiving orders. milkshakes had lovely flavor but no icecream and half the glass was just filled with cream and as much cream out of the glass. Salmon pasta - pasta lacked taste of cheese - no flavor at all. Chicken salads - the chicken was dry and overcooked. Overall very disappointed.

β β β β β After a great hike with the family, my wife, two young children and I decided to go to CBK for lunch. We ordered and were asked if we wanted everything to come out at the same time, which we said yes to. After a short wait, and a drink, I was surprised that the kids meals came through so was pleased that ours would soon follow. After the kids had finished their meals (they are really slow eaters at the moment - a hazard of being 2 and 3 I guess) my wife and I had still had not received our food. I looked at the table behind us that had got in before us and realised they had not had their food arrive either. As I watched the servers only bringing drinks and starters out I started to get a little concerned. 30 minutes after my children finished their meal they started to get a bit antsy (fair enough) so I had to pay for their food, our drinks and return home hungry.
Not the best experience unfortunately. As we left, the table behind us that had arrived before us still had no food and were commenting on how they should just leave also (they must have been nearing an hour wait by this time)

β β β β β Walked into an atmospheric, and energetic well decorated restaurant. We where seated and given our menus. Its was quite fortunate that we got them straight away as many people seemed to be sitting, waiting for menus or service. One couple even walked out before even getting service. We then ordered our drinks, simply; a lemanaide and pineapple juice. During the wait for said drinks it became aparent that this place loves their two 150~~ ish watt subwoofers. These reduced any talking to yelling across the table and it became clear why the place seemed so energitic, people have to be loud to be heard across the small table. Our mains took 30 - 40 mins to arrive. But, they arrive with an awesome presentation of that greasy, messy, (in a good way) food that has been sweeping across New Zealnd culinary recently. Presentation aside, the fried chicken burger I had was nice but nothing special. I did however enjoy the curly fries (which cost an extra $2) This unfortunately left me more happy about the fries, and how they tasted rather than the actual burger. The Burger was completly totally average. The Chicken burger had a chance to do something special with the added bacon, however I couldnt even taste it amungst the coleslaw and average chicken. lastly was our desert, witch took 20 mins to arrive wss the skillet cookie with ice-cream, This was actually quite nic if youre a sweet tooth, otherwise itll be a rich chocolate mean that you could only make about halfway through before feeling sick Overall an average restaurant, with average service, average food, good presentation, and good songs in the background which are unfortunately so bass heavy that you cant even tell what song is playing. You'll leave with a headache and a stomache of mediocre mains and nice deserts.
