★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Kepler track is an amazing hike with great accommodations along the way. We only stopped at Broad Bay for a quick break, but looked like a good campsite with bathrooms, water, etc.

However the site is poorly maintained and the 50+ Kiwi bogans and their speed boats all across the beach meant was super noisy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is no water nor any running water nor a sink. But there are loads of sandflys! There is a cooking shelter and the drop toilets are ok. But no place to top up on drinking water and having to get lake water for supper and coffee without taking off my shoes or getting eaten alive by sandflys was a task. I'd like to wash my face too without sand or other lake water debris getting into my eyes. Not worth the $20 and frankly the worst Great Walk campsite I've been to; been to the Routeburn, Abel Tasman, and the Tongariro Northern Circuit during the off-season. Wouldn't be mad if I was notified before coming - especially since I went to the DOC centre in Te Anau to get my reservation tickets.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brodbay is a perfect place to pitch a tent and certainly go for a swim, the beach is secluded and well very very inviting. Also the hike to Luxmore from here is very very rewarding, especially when you climb to the top and get full views of Te Anau Lake.
There are the basic toilets here but no drinking water so please make sure you have enough of that. Also this is the last campsite if you're headed to Luxmore hut.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Be Careful when camping. The Mice and Kia are very destructive... The Kia will peck through your food bags if you hang them and the mice will chew through your tent if you store your food in your tent.... The DOC needs to notify you and address this problem... Charging $60.00 to camp and not having a food storage solution is not acceptable...
