β β β β β Lost my repeat script and told me it had already been dispensed, which I have never collected as it was out of stock. A bit concerning as to what happened to it. Now I have to get the script rewritten at another cost by the GP. Disappointing.

β β β β β Nice pharmacy inside Countdown Ponsonby. The staff is always helpful and informed. The service times are very quick, hence less waiting to get the prescription. A USP is location, where one can shop in the supermarket while waiting for the prescription. Opening times are greater, which makes it even more easier to get served. Overall well recommended.

β β β β β Staff are very helpful, efficient, and on to it. One pharmacist discovering a GP's error. A very knowledgeable and competent bunch of people. Couldn't be happier

β β β β β Worst service I have ever experienced, starts with the phone being picked up, no greeting at all so I had to ask if I had rung the pharmacy, yes was the reply. Then I was told to come up,after being given the run around nothing was sorted. Absolutely terrible! I intend to deal with the head office first thing Monday morning. A horrific experience, there are lots of pharmacies near by, i would recommend going to these.

β β β β β This is my go-to pharmacy and I'm really happy with it overall. It's fast, affordable, and super convenient. Free scripts are a massive positive, the pharmacists inform you on the wait time so you can squeeze in a quick shop on the side too.
During lockdown, they allowed me to pick up medicine from the front of the store (no queues) and are fine with others collecting your script if you call first. I've never had an issue with having scripts directly faxed or bringing them in myself. The manager there (I think his name is Tom) works hard to make picking up scripts as painless as possible, he's friendly and fast. I'm not exactly a pharmacy connoisseur but I like this one a lot.

β β β β β On Saturday, I realised I had forgotten to pick up my prescription from my pharmacy (closes 1pm Saturday and opens 8.30am Monday)
I contact countdown pharmacy ponsonby. I explained my situation over the phone. The lady seemed uninterested when answering the phone. As I tried to explain my situation, she interrupted and asked if ponsonby countdown pharmacy is my dispensary.
I explain no, and that Iβm after an emergency prescription for an βanti-depressantβ However, before I had time to correct myself by saying,
She left the phone, spoke to her colleague. Then before I could explain itβs a mood stabilisers not anti dependent. She abruptly replied with βwe canβt do that, you need to contact crisis line.
Silence. Nothing else was said. (Crisis line would not have been able to dispense my medication) therefore I felt it was an unnecessary solution. -it felt like a joke.
I then explained βitβs not an anti-depressant itβs a mood stabiliser, that has a huge negative impact if I donβt take my regular dose (hence the emergency prescription)
She replied, βno we donβt do that- ask another pharmacyβ
I enquired why?
And basically her response was no.
I kept pressing and eventually they couldnβt explain why it was a no, so they just send yes.
I was shocked & disgusted. This pharmacyβs staff, did not create an inclusive environment. The staff made an prejudiced assumption of who I was. (Which should not matter who I am, everyone with mental health should be treated the same)
When I collect my prescription, they sincerely apologise and explained it was a miscommunication.
I felt they made an assumption of who I was! And when they saw me, they apologised.
But thatβs not the point. The point is that everyone deserve the time and consideration for their health problems to be heard. No one is lesser or unimportant!
This experience was heart breaking.

β β β β β Have used the Countdown Pharmacy for over 2 years. Prescriptions are free, which is great. Really convenient as you can do your shopping while you wait. My doc has also started sending the prescriptions straight to the pharmacy so they have it ready for you, or you can call to order repeat prescriptions.
Friendly staff, they were very kind and helpful when I was pregnant.
