The emergency/after hours clinic is rough, you'll most likely be waiting there for over an hour.. just a heads up.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A situation erupted this afternoon where my colleague suffered a puncture/laceration into his leg resulting in major bleeding.
After improptu first aid and major delays waiting for an ambulance, we decided to call the closest clinic where they rejected us due to resourcing and referred us to Health New Lynn.
Upon arrival showing a sense of urgency and distraught, the individuals manning the reception showed little to no care of the situation I explained.
In fact, we had to explain our situation 3 times - Twice from myself to two different receptionists and once from my other colleague. Not only that, but upon re-explaining it to 2nd receptionist, she had the audacity to state "I'm just got on" as if I was in the wrong to justify the urgency of a bleeding person sitting in the wheelchair in their waiting room.
Seeing her colleague and I in conflict, the 1st receptionist came out from the back room showing her the paperwork set up from our orginal conversation.
While these individuals were talking amongst themselves, a nurse overheard our situation and challenged the reception stating "If that man is bleeding, shouldn't we see him immediately and hand him (directing to me) the paperwork?"
If it wasn't for this amazing nurse, I would have gone full "Karen" due to their utter imcompotence, ridiculousness and overall unprofessionalism.
The following doctor and nurses afterwards were beyond amazing though.
Every clinic you see the sign "If you are having breathing issues, feeling faint or bleeding, please let us know". I've always wondered what they would the reception do if I told them, in this case they were absolutely hopeless.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The reception experience is horrible. Have been with Health New Lynn for over 2 years but every time that I have visited the center or called to make an appointment have had a bad experience with the reception.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to see another doctor as my usual doctor was unavailable. The doctor prescribed me medication that gave me bad side affects as that doctor didn't read through my notes. I didn't know that the medication he gave me was also prescribed under another medical name the doctor did not inform me of. I said I had a another problem that was private upon seeing the nurse. The doctor gave the nurse the wrong information that was rather embarrassing. There had been times of waiting for scripts to be sent to the chemist or scripts that had to be past from doctor to doctor to sign off. I've personally had mixed matched information from receptionist and another receptionist who had taken my calls. The wait times can vary and sometimes run behind. The practice is neat and clean though but I think it will be hard to access for people in mobility aids even though there is a lift to the second floor. Access to radiology is there too and no appointments necessary for COVID-19 Vaccine

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr Isaac is unbelievable, he literally saved my life last year, I told him I broke my rib, I was so sure about it but he didn't just believe me and give me pain meds, he actually got me a heart scan and X ray done right away and discovered I had a pulmonary embolism, he sent me to hospital were I was told I would have not survived more than 5 days. During my hospital stay he called me a couple times to check how I was doing. This year I'm going through some fertility with a private clinic and he followed up on my blood tests despite it being organized by the fertility clinic and having nothing to do with him. He just cares about his patients so much and follows up on everything. He is super thorough and speaks in a way that a person with zero medical knowledge can fully understand.
Health new lynn itself is great, always super clean and pleasant receptionists. It's like a mini hospital there, they have the resources to get some tests done onsite.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Horrendous prices and rude customer service. Costs $18 for a repeat prescription to be done within 1 - 2 Days. $30 if you want it done same day. Yet i could book a doctors appointment for $19.50 waste the doctors time for 10 minutes then get my repeat the same day makes no sense? Would give 0 stars if i could. Also the doctors are always over worked and generally fully booked out when you need to make an appointment you have to see someone different each time!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Left this practice after years of seeing 'doctors' who don't actually wish to investigate health concerns. Not to mention the fact you can never get an appt, then you go to use their urgent care clinic and then can't even get seen there and told to go see a doctor at White Cross, who has no idea of who I am, let alone any relevant medical records. Condescending, old dinosaurs that need to retire and receptionists without an ounce of knowledge of what customer service entails. Now I have a doctor who is investigating my concerns and I can get a same day appt, just how it should be.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have always had timely and positive experiences at Health New Lynn. My GP is based in this clinic but I have also utilised the nurses and other specialists in the clinic who are always so kind and professional. Like most medical centres, there is often a little delay between appointments but I haven’t found them to be too long. If you are looking for a GP, I would recommend Health New Lynn.
