β β β β β The worst experience. Absolutely disgusted and appalled with happy campers.
DO NOT HIRE WITH THEM
Poor customer service when our first van broke down. So many things wrong with the van as well. Chiller bin didn't work and air con didn't either. The van filled with dust like a tornado on every gravel road leaving our clothes and bedding dusty. The sheets they gave us smelt like sweat and were ripped. The bed was a 0/10 comfort. Had to go and buy a mattress topper to get a good night sleep.

β β β β β Overall good experience. Very friendly staff, good explanation how everything works and how they expect the vehicle to be returned. We paid around $680 for 14 days for a hightop from 1999 ish. Definitely an older van with a bit of rust here and there and some wear and tear on the interior, but everything worked. Fridge looked a bit sad but worked fine. No mechanical issues. The bedding and mattresses were incredibly comfortable! The drop off was easy as. I would book there again so thank you Happy Campers

β β β β β We had some confusion with the conditions of the insurance policy as we took out the platinum insurance. 2 of the staff did not seem to understand the policy but once we spoke with the manager it was clarified to our satisfaction. I suggest you read all of the potential exclusions as there are many but if you are a safe sensible driver you should be fine. We chose to take an additional 3rd party property policy with an insurance company just to be sure. Our van was older than others but it you do your research it costs a lot more for newer ones. The bed was queen size and the kitchen well stocked, the gas stove inside and outside were excellent as was the table and chair's. There was plenty of storage space and the toilet and shower was excellent. Our van was an old diesel but had plenty of power for its size and was real fun to drive. I suggest pulling over regularly to let others pass. Show some love! There were a few minor things like a speaker not working but I wondered if anyone had let them know as we did and they were appreciative. The manager gave us a substantial discount in view of the initial problems we had and the few minor issues with the van. I suggest some training for the staff and get your telephone lines working. I would.travel with them again. It seems that we can be quick to criticize but slow to compliment. To Happy Campers I suggest fix up your little bugs and your rating will go up!

Rented Kiwi Euro 2 ST from 24th Dec'19 - 31st Dec'19.
Booking Process: Booking was made through an agent (adventiv.co.nz)
Adventiv provided a quote to us, which we agreed. To my surprise, Adventiv got back to us stating that kiwi campers are asking for more money. This should have been a first signs of this being a super Dubious company. I refused on principal. However, then a couple of days later, they agreed to honour the original quote. Given the limited options during the peak holiday period, I agreed.
Airport pick up: Once we landed at the Christchurch airport at around 2:00 pm, no one answered the phones to pick us up. I rang for atleast half an hour. We finally gave up and decided to take a cab to their office. Upon arrival, I asked if their phone was working, they said no one had called. no apology issued.
Van Pick up & Condition: The checkin process was terrible. Rude staff, while the van induction process, the toilet broke adding to another delay of 30 mins while they took the van at the back to fix. Again no apology for additional delay. Absolutely shocked to see the condition of the Van offered, it was filthy. Dust all over, not even washed. For proof, I have attached pictures.
Issues with Van:
Had to laundry the sheets provided on day 1
General condition super poor inside and out
No water in Wiper wash
Broken parts
Multiple Chips on the windscreen (made me nervous everytime we hit a speedbump)
Rotten metal parts
Everytime you accelerate, above 80, constant noise from engine.
As soon as I left the pick up office, I started calling these guys again to notify them of additional issues, no one answered. I had to take pictures and email them, still no response of acknowledgement.
Unexpected Payments Charged: At the time of pick up, I was advised, if I want to drop the vehicle off during after hours, I could leave it just around the corner. Their office opens at 8:30, and I had to drop it at 8. To my surprise, I noticed a cheeky charge of $41 for this service. Please note there is nothing mentioned in their contracts. I called the office to discuss the charge and enquire why this wasn't called out at the time of pick up. however, they manager started calling me a liar and said they induction person must have mentioned it.
Further more, about few weeks ago, I received another email from them stating I have been charged for a speeding ticket. This is an absolute lie as we never visited the region stated on the ticket let alone the road. Moreover, like I said the van's condition was barely making it to speed limit, forget about over speeding.
I discussed this with my bank (Commonwealth Bank of Australia) and they advised best to stop the Credit Card and issue a new one, which I have done now.
Any one thinking of using this company please be ware and go elsewhere. Do not spoil your much deserved break.

β β β β β No major problems. Had one minor mechanical problem in in 10 days and an entire lap of the South Island. Fixed with just a phone call within a couple hours. Not too much stress. Van as expected, functional and everything working. It's what we expected for the cheap pricing. The staff were friendly and showed us the van with some knowledge. Our bond deposit was refunded a week after the van was handed back as we used a cash bond. We would hire a happy camper again. It served is well ???οΈ

β β β β β Would not recommend. Customer service is appalling and their lack of communication is terrible. I had to constantly ask questions as no information was explained clearly. I would never book with them again, van was not equipped with all the equipment we were told it would have which made our experience disappointing. They take no responsibility for their actions and justify all their behavior without so much as an apology.

β β β β β Great company, great van, great experience, great value for money . Read the reviews after booking and was Abit apprehensive before pick up. But all the negative reviews ignore them. Rebecca was great to deal with and we had absolutely no issues. We done 1500km in a manual petrol hitop van and she ran like a dream. Will defo be back for more.

It was our first time in a cmpervan and the van itself was really well set up, we had a ball for 2 weeks checking out all the spots we wanted to visit in Te Waipounamu. Rebecca was excellent to deal with - she was efficient, helpful and no question was a dumb question. Everything happy campers said they would provide - they did! I completely recommend them and their vans. Thanks so much for an extraordinary holiday opportunity :) Wendy
