Tried the frozen dumplings from Malaysia Delights tonight and they were delicious!! ?? The package had a QR code which I scanned to get the step by step cooking instructions. They were definitely the best dumplings I’ve had in a while. Would totally recommend!!

[Riverside location] Beef Rendang over rice for $13. Not a very good portion size and their presentation is not awesome. They had run out of the wraps which isn’t a big issue but you certainly don’t get what you pay for here, IMO. It was very delicious but I was disappointed that I paid so much for so little. Service was fast. Maybe a little too fast. ?

It was so good before. I got my char koay teow craving fixed whenever i need to. I even recommend this place to people when they visit Christchurch. Not anymore. Probably they changed the chef? The char koay now taste nothing like char koay teow except the smoke smell. The rendang looks like my cat's vomit when she's overeat her kibbles, and the taste is far from how rendang supposed to taste. The fritters are super oily.

Unfortunately, I had nothing positive to say about the chicken laksa other than it was hot and the noodles well cooked. The soup was bland and the chicken tasted old. The boiled egg was overcooked for laksa. Looks better than it tasted. I hope you guys can improve on the flavour. The soup was simply just too bland and watery.

17/4/2022 - Most authentic Malaysian meal I've had in NZ. This Char Kuey Teow is as authentic as it gets. Smoky, smooth and springy, with crisp juicy textures. Amazing! 5/4/2021 - It's not easy to recreate the same authentic flavours, but this is close. Great spice and nice portion. Will come back again.

Tried the signature dish beef rendang with rice and coleslaw ($15). This is anything but rendang. Watery and no spice taste. More like braised beef in a bland spice mix. Get your Malaysian fix somewhere else.

The best Laksa in CHCH? Sooooooo yum and creamy, worth the extra cost for a seafood and chicken mixed Laksa. Will come back for sure.

What a shame, honestly didn’t taste a single grain of salt in this bowl of seafood laksa, unbelievable! Not sure if it’s a mistake or on purpose, so bland and flavorless. The only thing that stops it from getting a lone star is the fact that the the noodle, shrimp, and eggs are actually nicely cooked, and I could taste decent curry and spices, but still, this is borderline inedible. Too bad since it could have been a great bowl of laksa.
