β β β β β One of the only two black sand beaches in the world, this is a must visit spot for all. The pristine skies and water make it a memorable trip. The views are breathtaking. I strongly recommend walking up the Lion Rock. The views from the top are amazing and itβs an experience in itself. The beach is a great place for surfing, however itβs recommended to check the types of tides. There is ample parking options available around the beach. There are some shops and washrooms available at the beach. There is a camping area available as well, however itβs strongly recommended to check the availability before you venture out.

β β β β β Be careful the sun can make the sand extremely hot, foot blister hot, make sure you wear appropriate shoes to walk down to the beach. This is one of my favorite beaches, wild and untamed. Surrounding area is beautiful. Friendly people. Be careful for the riptide. Don't swim without life guard on duty.

β β β β β Cool beach but dangerous surf if you donβt know what youβre doing. Super hot black sand and very windy. East coast beaches are a lot better if youβre not a surfer. If you are a strong swimmer and love this the surf, this is a great beach!

β β β β β It's a very lovely beach and you also get the black sand beach. Superb views from the famous lion rock? I have seen people surfing and swimming but I do not recommended unless you know what you are facing against. The west coast is known as country's most dangerous beaches. So be aware. Very popular beach during the summer though. I loved the black sand beach. The greenery and the bushes are lovely along the stream that leads to the black sand beach. Toilet ? and parking ?οΈ facilities available. Changing rooms are also available. Nice little town by the beach and you can enjoy the food and the stay in Piha.

β β β β β Great beach to spend the day with walks all around, it's not just A beach there are rock pools, blow holes, and Caves to explore. Piha is perfect for spending a day at the beach with heaps of activities like walking, swimming, surfing, exploring, A almost any beach game you can think of. All in all piha is an AMAZING beach to visit. But do watch out for the blue bottle jelly fish.
