★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Knowledgable, friendly, attentive to his clientele. My dad used to commercial fish black cod, salmon, halibut and tuna. I wanted to get a special charter for a great trout fishing experience. Richard provides in spades. You can participate and/or learn as much or as little as you want. He has a bit of that gruff seasoned seaman character about him but is very nice and caring. He cares a lot about Taupo and the trout. He also cares that you have a good experience and he will go the extra mile to guarantee that. We caught 7 trout (one throwback and 6 great sized, including one big one and two fatties!), most of which we smoked at Farmer's Discount Meats. He also showed us the rock carvings which are a great backdrop to the first part of our fishing trip. My dad says easily one of the best charters he has been on. Thanks Rich!
