★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is incredible. Fabulous food & I'm told the best coffee! Accommodation is unique and beautiful with attention to detail, quality linen, great facilities. Canoeing, knife & soap making, foraging, conversations & laughs. The most amazing hosts, it really is a paradise!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an amazing place. If you want something different, fun, off the grid and appreciate natural surroundings this is the place. Your hosts have a true appreciation of the natural world and are so happy to share it with you. Getting so far away from the city environs has rejuvenated me after the horror of covid. Have to mention the food was spectacular and the accommodation extremely comfortable. Thankyou to Heather and Fritz for a wonderful holiday.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had an awesome stay, Heather and Fritz were great hosts. What they’ve achieved is really quite impressive, and the hospitality was awesome. Great coffee, really interesting to hear all Heather’s native plant knowledge. Possible future improvement: outdoor pizza oven!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We paddled 7.5 klms to far and missed the lodge, so it was a long first day :) On getting back to the lodge we were treated to home made scones, jam's and cream. Heather and Fritz are just amazing, both so friendly and loving what they do. Posh Pioneers lives up to it's name and certainly did not disappoint. Everything about the place is authentic, there is so much history and so many great stories. The food is spectacular and the coffee that Fritz prides himself on was the perfect way to start the day at breakfast.
If there was a tourism standard for New Zealand operators, Heather and Fritz are setting it.
