★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I didn't get the service we agreed on. Grant promised to refund me a part of my payment but I have never seen any single cent. Grant stopped communication at the moment I left his lodge. It's a fraud.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ BE CAREFUL BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR REFUND! We planned to live in Owhango Adventures motel long term as we are working in Ruapehu mountain during the season. Grant promised us double ensuite room including wifi. Instead he moved us to Forest lodge where we neither had the ensuited bathroom nor the internet, and it was completely unsuitable for winter stay. We decided to move out at the end of the week giving a couple of days notice. Grant gave us a choice to move out right away and give us a refund. However, we still don't have our money back in spite of constant reminders and repeating phone calls.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ NEW OWNERS SINCE NOV 2019 Margaret and Andrew are amazing hosts. When our van broke down in Owhango they went out of there way to look after us, make us feel welcome and keep us occupied! Beautiful spot for walking, cycling, fishing and all other outdoor activities. A perfect place to base yourself for the Tongariro crossing! The lodge has great facilities and very comfortable beds. We hope to come back and visit when we’re next in the area, hopefully you’ll have caught dinner Andrew ?. Miss you already Beaudie ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Andrew and Margaret are wonderful hosts. Theyve owned Forest Lodge just a bit more than a year and they have transformed the place. Clean linen, clean room, clean bathroom and washing facilities. Nothing too much trouble.

They have good quality heaters.
Clean rooms, mattress, sheets.
Tidy kitchen with all the utensils to make your early breakfast before you head towards any journey.
They have a big dining table and a living room to spend time.
But wifi signal doesn't go in the bedroom?
