β β β β β Stayed for an extended period. Housekeeping was horrendous. I left a note on the bed asking for sheets to be changed as they hadn't been for a while, they "made" the bed over top of the note. Wifi tokens that you have to pay for in 2021. Rooms in poor repair in general. Colleague I stayed with had an electric shock because the dishwasher was damaged and the whole thing was live. Another colleague had water coming out of his wall socket. My room had the RCD circuit breakers trip and had to be moved. They wrongly charged someone else for a carpark instead of us, the owner said it was out fault and we needed to do something for him in return. That favour was to be a 5 star review. Yeah probably not bud.

β β β β β I stayed at this quest for 3 months on a business trip, and in the time the house keeping was terrible. Sheets weren't changed unless we asked multiple times, Bathrooms weren't cleaned, carpets wasn't vacuumed. The "king bed" advertised was 2 singles pushed together. Also you are given one 15gig wifi token every 7 days what is ridiculous especially when doing work from your hotel, and being advertised with "free wifi". One of my colleagues was electrocuted from the dish washer and had to go to hospital to have heart scans, and after telling the owner it took them 2 days to come look at it.
Another colleague had water running out of a electrical socket what was a major electrical hazard.
There was also a issue with shady people staying here and the constant smell of marijuana and despite complaining multiple times nothing was done about it.
The receptionist ditty was verry helpful tring to help with these issues. But when the owner was told he didn't want anything to do with it and dident help in any way shape or form with these issues.
Defiantly will not be staying again and would not recommend

β β β β β I had an extended stay at the Quest Ponsonby from the 08/07 until the 08/10 2021, if you're going to do the same I strongly wouldn't recommend it. In my room the washing machine leaked, the oven smokes heavily when turned on also leaked as the seal was dodgy, multiple blown light bulbs, broken bedside table lamp, I received a 200v shock from the dishwasher as a result from there being a completely broken handle that took 2 days to fix after my boss made a complaint also when the kettle was turned on it would trip all the rooms circuit breakers. My co-workers room had water leaking out of the power point socket which was another massive electrical hazard. Another had to switch rooms because the power completely cut out in his room. It seems there are no electrical inspections done in these rooms with the last one being 2015 (written on the dryer) it could have been very dangerous. The owner is rude and doesn't apologise once, brushes off feedback with his only concern being saving money. The location and space of the room is great if you want to stay here for a night or 2 but you can get much better value in the area. Cleaning is pretty poor and they never vacuumed my room once, only right outside my room at 10:30am on sunday morning. In my stay I witnessed multiple people using drugs with a constant smell of marijuana when opening up a window, doors being broken into, people spitting off balconies etc. The receptionist Ditty is very kind and was lovely to all our staff members and we were all very pleased with her positive attitude and friendliness and couldn't have been better. We have also noticed Raj the owner yelling at his employees and treating them unfairly. Fortunately work had paid for my accommodation otherwise I would've stayed elsewhere. Raj incorrectly charged a separate customer for parking their car in the underground parking and tried to blame us and overall struggles to manage. If you're traveling internationally it also makes it difficult as you will only receive 1x 15GB wifi token that lasts a week with Raj trying to get you to buy more data if you run out. Even through Level 4 restrictions staying here unable to work it was still difficult to get more wifi tokens from him when working remotely but thankfully Ditty was kind enough to look after us. The sinks in the room were also very clogged barely draining taking minutes. Poor fan ventilation when having a shower, one co-worker discovered mould on his curtains as a result.

β β β β β States that they have a 24 hour reception but only opens at 7.30am.
Requested a 10.30am check in when booked directly but was told 2.00pm only so not good if you are arriving early.
Having spent the last three hours listening to guests checking out, interconnected doors that wouldnβt lock and children having to push a coffee table up against it so the neighbours
couldnβt enter. Pretty average customer service.
Will book a proper hotel and pay the extra money in future.

β β β β β Lovely reception staff.
But sadly the one bedroom apartment (with bath) needs a serious deep clean re carpets, tiles, cupboards, furniture, curtains and walls.
Sitting on the couch was disgusting, it and the cushions smelt really bad.
The sheets on the bed were clean, but iven thevrest of the apartment condition I didn't want to look underneath at the mattress as I had to sleep here overnight.

β β β β β My stay here was really great. Services was great. I understand that I was in here during lockdown so tough on staff to do work but they did the best of what they can do. I recommend to anyone. Nice and clean and staff was excellent.

β β β β β Staff are warm and welcoming, excellent rooms very clean, been here since Christmas Eve till now and have had no problems!! Definitely a recommendation for future stays and extended holiday family members! One of the best hotel stays Iβve had to experience here in Auckland!!
