★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Got moved here after Adelphi motel said they did not have a Unit for us which we had paid for. Were told both Motels have the same owners.
Had to wait 15 minutes for unit to be ready. No one in Reception. On being told Unit was ready we were disgusted with what we found. Fridge was filthy, no milk, no toilet paper, foldaway bed in bathroom, over flowing rubbish bins outside surrounded by more bags of rubbish. Tried ringing mobile number on Reception Door but no one answered. Rang Adelphi Motel and explained what we had found and that we would not be staying the night.
Only given this Review one ⭐as I could not post without it as I would have given it a minus if I could.
It appeared that most of the units had WINZ clients.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a booking via booking.com thought we were sweet suddenly they cancelled, lucky we found somewhere else no explanation why it was cancelled.
O well at least our holiday will go ahead with a different motel

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were moved here by Adelphi motel because the 2 bedroom unit we booked was unavailable. The room was dirty, smelled of cigarettes and had been hastily vacated by someone who left food and clothes behind. There was no toilet paper, we had to ask for dish soap to clean the dishes before using them. We had to ask for soap for the bathroom too. I bought pillows that didn't stink. We would not have stayed except there was nothing else available. Our neighbours were loud and angry and fought at 3am and 5 am. Don't stay here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Has fence privacy for comfort include outdoor table and seat. Beddings comfortable and BIG for me and partner. Bathroom is excellent with water pressure from shower all in all just right for our 2 night stay. Great service from reception kind and friendly. 15-20 min walk to the Water front in Taupo if wanting a night walk or early morning

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We booked to stay here through booking.com and got a really great deal, so we thought. A couple of weeks before our holiday we got notified that Rainbow point had to cancel our booking as they supposedly had maintenence scheduled....however, they were advertising the room we had booked still on various other sites for a higher price then what we had booked it for. It all seems pretty suspicious, as it was peak holiday season and we find it very unlikely that maintenance was actually taking place... Especially considering they were still advertising available rooms exactly like what we had booked.
The fact that our reservation got cancelled only a couple of weeks before our trip completely ruined our holiday due to the time of year resulting in all other suitable accommodation been completely booked out and extremely expensive! Completely unimpressed ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything about this place is great. A real gem of a place. A real homely touch. The whole place is decorated modernly and is spotless everywhere. The room was really spacious and clean, bed was so comfortable. In a nutshell all you need and more facilities wise. The hosts were really helpful and friendly as well. Everything about our stay here was perfect. I would definitely go back. In fact I wouldn’t look anywhere else. All very relaxed which was perfect for our weekend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed here with my family for 3 nights and the place is really good. Easy accessible to the Taupo lake, Fish&Chips shop, Diary and the Bar & Restaurant. That's what needed for us during our vacation. The staff is very friendly and 2 bedroom unit was in a good size for my family with all the necessary amenities. We really had a homely feeling and thank you so much for the great hospitality. We will be back soon.
