Ploughmans is modelled after a traditional English village pub. We saw ploughmans as a meeting place for locals, friends and neighbours and is a place where no one remains a stranger for long. You can see our community spirit all along our walls and ceilings that are filled with collectables carefully selected over several years. At Ploughmans, we pride ourselves on always providing first-class customer service, scrumptious food and great ambience as well as providing something for everyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lived here for years and tried Ploughmans for the first time. Really enjoyed it. Nice big burger and fries, pizza’s looked good and the kids enjoyed the kids menu. Will be back again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place has great large portions! The service is a bit slow to be honest, one of the only negatives about the place. We ate here twice and were stuffed and loved it each time. Be prepared to drop about $80nz for two people with a drink or dessert though! Photos as of feb 2020.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered the seafood hotpot which was basically a huge plate of salad with a side dish of mashed potato. Oh, there was a little bit of seafood underneath all the mash , about 2 Tablespoons worth. I looked around at the other mains and realized mine was the size of a starter compared to theirs. Other than being disappointed with the food, the atmosphere and our waitress was really good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We come for a visit here every time (multiple times) when in Taupo. The food is always absolutely delicious, beer is cold and service is amazing. Great old school pub feel, awesome for families and the garden area is so nice. If you haven't been for a visit I would highly recommend ?

visit when we are in Taupo. In summer such pleasant dining outside with all the trees and in
winter it is so cozy and welcoming inside. Our friends join us in endorsing your excellent homely meals....very tasty and generous portions. I love your venison pie! Casual, friendly and a relaxing experience. We look forward to our next visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We really loved our meal at Ploughmans Restaurant. The service was super friendly and the meals were delicious. My partner ordered the Venison Pie and I had the Fish and Chips - both meals were huge and super tasty. We felt really relaxed in the garden area and what made it extra special is that we could bring out dog out with us and we were all made to feel really welcome. We would definitely come back again.
