β β β β β We did the Doubtful Sound day trip with RealNZ. It us about an hour across lake manapouri and then another hour on the bus to Doubtful Sound (arrive about 12). Reception is lost pretty much by the time you start the bus trip so ensure you are ready to disconnect and enjoy. Bring lots of snacks as tea, coffee and water are the only things included and the snacks for sale are cash only. Lots of awesome information along the way but all of the guides could do with brushing up on their te reo pronunciation. If the water is still enough the skipper will take the boat out to where Doubtful meets the Tasman and you might get to see some seals!

We left Te Anau 9:00am and came back in Te Anau 5:30.
You can go here in a day even from Queenstown. You definitely should go and see one one the beautiful spots in NZ. I can't tell you enough about it on pictures.

β β β β β Beautiful trip, no matter the weather!! All of the RealNZ staff were so nice. Thanks to Karen who was at the cafe in the morning and also on the boats during the day! The bus drivers were also great and had funny and informative commentary!

β β β β β Can't speak highly enough of these guys. The whole trip was Awesome!
Ship was clean and comfortable and the crew were fantastic. Food was was delicious. On board bar with beer wine spirits and soft drinks.
At the very least do the day trip. But if time and budget permits do the overnight trip.

β β β β β Absolutely stunning overnight trip in doubtful sound. The food was delicious and very plentiful ( Inc afternoon tea, buffet dinner with salmon, roast meat and mussels). The scenery took your breath away. We were lucky enough to see dolphins. Clean and comfortable room with hot shower and toilet.
