β β β β β We did the morning glory kayaking tour and it was one of the best things I have done in my life, just spectacular. I would recommend this tour group and would love to one day do this again. Seeing this wonderful place in a kayak is just.... The best!

β β β β β Personally, we think that Kayaking the Milford Sound was way better than the cruises. The highlight of the tour was seeing up-close a sea lion as well as getting really close to the waterfall. It is really nice to spend most of the day out on the water and highly recommend Rosco's as they provide all the gear you need and have really friendly, helpful guides.

β β β β β My wife and I, along with our two adult sons took the sunrise tour on Milford Sound on New Years Day. It was drizzly and foggy - perfect for kayak because the planes, helicopters and tour boats were mostly inactive. Drove 2 hours in dark from Te Anau to get there by 7:15, but worth it. Rosco's provided all clothing, including long underwear and fleece tops (you don't really need anything but some flip-flops). Their clothing, kayaks, vests, skirts, jackets were clean and good quality. Great guide (Damon) kept us safe and interested. Got out at a beach to learn about some native plants and even saw a Crested Penguin close up (rare for January 1). This was an advanced tour and we were tired after three hours on the water. Great way to experience the sound up close.

β β β β β Beautiful setting. Paddled right up to Stirling Falls - a lot closer than the cruises and very wet!
Great experience, our guide Russ made us feel very safe and went at a comfortable pace (a long workout so bear this in mind!).
We also found two fur seals bathing on the rocks along the way.
We did the afternoon twilight experience and would highly recommend, try to pick a day with good weather if you can.

β β β β β Amazing tour, definitely worth doing. We had the most amazing tour guides for our morning session, right mix of knowledge and humour. Would highly recommend doing a tour with these guys!

β β β β β Desire to paddle in the serene waters of Milford Sound? I highly recommend Roscos! And yes, the green shed that you see, is the departure location. :)
We were so lucky to have a beautiful sunny morning considering the fact that the previous day was raining and cloudy. It was the perfect day to paddle. ?? Rosco pioneered sea kayaking in Milford 27 years ago and they are the longest established owner-operated kayaking company in New Zealand. They have a variety of trips catering to the first timers as well as seasoned kayakers. Their guides are very knowledgeable too. Our guide was Benjamin and it was a super fun guide and shared so many personal stories making our trip more memorable. If you would like to paddle with a company that cares about conservation, then these are the folks.
