★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place to hang out with family . The dock near gets somw cruise ships at times. The fish and chips shop near is good but takes forever to the food. Has some play equipments for kids like trampoline for a price.

Our cruise ship docks at Port of Tauranga.
Once alighted from the ship, my friends and I look for a local tour company to take us around. We do not have any luck, because two ships arrive almost at the same time, and most tourists booked before arrival.
We continue to walk from the almost empty carpark and pass Salisbury Wharf. It is nothing really spectacular, probably the atmosphere may be different in the evening.
I can imagine the wharf is an ideal place to spend time sitting and looking at the ships as they come and go by.
Apparently Salisbury Wharf is a popular fishing spot for kingfish, travelly and sting ray.
