β β β β β Awesome place to spend an afternoon! The beer is cold, the staff are super friendly, and the seating area is spacious and comfortable! Also the location is super handy for anyone looking for the quintessential NZ hotel location near the city centre!

β β β β β Awesome place to stop for a drink and a feed! Comfy couches, good wifi and very well priced food and drinks. Best bowl of chips weβve had in ages, tasty and massive serving. Highly recommend stopping by and supporting a good local family pub in a awesome historic building with great view of the river

β β β β β I love staying at these "old" hotels. Sure, I could fork out for a more upmarket self contained motel room but you simply don't get the same level of hospitality. The staff were amazing, super friendly and went out of their way to make sure I felt welcome. The separate spaces and amenities within the building are perfect if you're after a little bit of privacy. The split lounge and sports bars were relaxing and fun. Ice cold beers with the local patrons, Wade's steak dinner, a few games of pool and a small win on the pokies made for a most enjoyable stay. I'll definitely be back!!
