★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have stayed in several hotels in Wellington and Intrepid would certainly take the top spot.
Cute boutique rooms that have been throughly thought out down to smallest details.
I can't wait to stay here again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staying at The Intrepid Hotel is everything you would want a great hotel to be, and then some. The rooms are stylish and warm. The windows open. The bed is king, firm mattress with comfy top and quality linen. All the fixtures and fittings are chosen with care and placed perfectly. The lighting is superb. But then, things get elevated with so many thoughtful touches I could not possibly name them all, nor would you want me to - these pleasant and constant surprises are what elevates The Intrepid into somewhere that you will want to return to again and again. I do however have to mention the bag of freshly squeezed OJ, the best croissants from local Leeds Street bakery, butter and jam, that was outside our door in the morning. Phenomenal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a great find in central Wellington! Would highly recommend. Interior is New York style, very comfortable bed, and lovely surprises (complimentary) throughout the stay, the fresh croissants in the morning being a highlight.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Intrepid Hotel is THE perfect hotel in Wellington for people with dogs! From the initial contact querying about exactly how dog-friendly they are (because some hotels say they're dog friendly but insist you keep your dog in a crate *ugh*) all the way through check out – they have made our stay easy and wonderful.
We were greeted with a lovely letter, addressed to us AND our dog. I was excited about this because it's the first time a hotel really made us feel that they KNOW that pets are part of the family. Moreover, there was a bag of custom dog treats with my dog's name embedded in the cookie! WOW!
My dog was comfortable the entire time – resting well from her Welly adventures. A park to go do her business is just across the street from the hotel, not to mention all the splendid cafes within arms' reach.
The overall aesthetic of the hotel is unique and edgy. Not your typical white linen beds with white robes! I love that they're not afraid of colour.
Thank you, Intrepid Hotel, for our fabulous stay. We look forward to our next stay (a now must when in Welly for us)!
PS. Shoutout to Billie for being fantastic to deal with the whole time!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed last week for two nights as a surprise birthday trip for my partner. She and I both had a perfect stay. The location is excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful without being obtrusive and the hotel itself is great. The rooms are comfortable and very cool, and every little detail has been thought of - our room was a little noisy with Ghuznee St right outside, so little touches like earplugs were a nice touch.
We’ll be back for sure!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Although the rooms are stylish, the beds comfortable, the location excellent and the thoughtful touches plentiful, it is the people who work here and the customer service they provide which is the real standout and at a level I have very rarely experienced before in NZ. We stayed for the first time a few months ago for a special occasion and through no fault of the hotel had an unpleasant experience with the bar downstairs. The way that the staff at the Intrepid responded to and dealt with this experience for us was nothing short of exceptional. I have corresponded with three different people in the time between then and our next stay which is currently happening and each one of them was warm, engaging and concerned with nothing but that we as the customer had the best experience they could provide. People are what make the difference in every business and the Intrepid Hotel clearly values it’s people who in turn value their customers. We won’t be staying anywhere else whenever we are in Wellington.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an exceptional hotel! A lot of attention to details, they have certainly thought about the little things. The feeling is dark, cozy, and moody - a perfect little snug to come back to after an evening out in Wellington. At first, parking could seem like a hurdle, but there are plenty of public parking garages around, and you won’t need your car while you’re here! Everything is easily within walking distance.
And the breakfast delivery is the best kept secret!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've stayed in many great hotels around the world over the last couple of decades. I love the smaller boutique styles. We live in Wellington and due to covid we decided to stay in town for our wedding anniversary. The Intrepid is world class. The rooms are stunning, fabulous comfy bed, lots of treats and the bonus of a great little bar (Puffin) on the ground floor. Short walking distance to many fantastic restaurants and bars. Thank you to the Intrepid team for making our stay special. We'll be back. Highly recommended.
