β β β β β We went to stay here with a group of 50 people. The accommodation is good but the food is not up to the high price you pay for it. Fish and chips for $35!!
We had a buffet dinner on the Saturday night. The soup was ok. The main meal vegetables were probably warmed up from frozen as the green beans were all soggy and it had baby carrots and peas mix. The potatoes were all symmetrical in size and shape, probably came out of a packet. The lamb, fish and chicken dishes were average and unlikely made from fresh ingredients.
Desert was tinned fruit, packet meringue, cream and slab chocolate cake cut up into small squares.
All of this came at the handsome price of $79 a head. Very disappointing for the money. I think quite a few of us had a shock at the price on checking out.

Last time I went to that hotel, it was really good.
It's past dinner time. Thank you for providing the meal. It's a food facility. The view. Location. The restaurant was fantastic.
One night or two days is great. In the future, we will take guests and book the accommodation directly. Please take care of us.

β β β β β Very disappointed. Four of us in two certified self-contained motorhomes arrived wanting to park in their two bus parks and hoping to have a really good meal only to be turned away as were told, this is a 4 star hotel. I re-entered the hotel after being turned away the first time, and suggested that if there were no buses calling that surely that was no real difference between a bus and a motorhome,, but despite confirming no buses calling that night we were turned away again, so we went elsewhere. We would probably have spent $300 - $400 over the course of a meal and a few drinks. REALLY REALLY BAD DECISION! Unlikely to be back again any time soon now, despite staying twice in the past with no issues as it really is a great place. How can you afford to turn away good repeat business at any time but especially in these difficult Covid times? Now premanently lost? PROBABLY! Perhaps an area could be set aside somewhere for a couple of campervans might be a good idea, as it is not acceptable to have a couple of drinks and then drive a vehicle, nor were we not offered a courtesy van. You are missing out on valuable business now, and in future!

β β β β β We had a lovely stay recently. Very calming over there, just switch off from the busy world - relax, watch the ocean, listen to the sound of waves and walk around Punakaiki. Alexander is a nice friendly host and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Highly recommended.
