★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went for breakfast and had 2 choices for and egg breakfast. Coffee was bad and a couple walked out leaving their meal uneaten. Not a good sign We had to collect our own breakfast from the counter when the buzzer went so already the price outweighs the service. Eggs tasted like water. And very pale Very unusual . Bacon chewy. Half a tomatoe and white toast. Local free range eggs were advertised but that was obviously not the case. I could not eat them. I've never written a bad review but walked out feeling very ripped off as the prices were high.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Relax in a true country pub the way its supposed to be. Cold beer, good food, everybody welcome. Come as you are as there's no one to impress but yourself. Somewhere to stop and absorb one of the worlds most spectacular scenic wonder.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Usually exceptional cleaning and lunch meals tasty.
Normally tables were wiped at time of clearing. Not today. 3 tables round us remained non wiped while we had our full meal with dessert.
Lunch menu changed on menu board late so couldn't order the delicious pizza.
Staff lovely and surroundings very special. We always return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As we walked the Punakaiki Rocks amazing tracks the children suggested we needed to eat pancakes next, lo and behold, pancakes!
Good pancakes too. Well presented, tasty and filling.
The indoor outdoor flow of cigarette smoke from the staff member having a fag out front was disconcerting but the stink eye she gave me earlier and the general lack of cordiality made me think twice about saying anything.
Pancakes good.
Cigarette smoke, yuck.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband ordered some pancakes and I had the savory score. We both had a flat white. They were busy so said the coffees would take 10 minutes. The food came out fast and the coffee came out faster than expected. Both the food and the coffee was delicious, exceptional.. you won't be disappointed. The venue also lovely, we sat outside in the courtyard area .. was fabulous!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is on the expensive side, but is yummy. Got a double yolker in the eggs! Hollandaise sauce was a strange flavour. The menu said fresh blueberries came with the smoothie bowl however it came with defrosted blueberries - found it weird as they’re in season!! Coffee was good :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Iconic. Worth stopping here and eating after you've walked the Pancake Rocks loop which is just across the road.
We had the Berry pancakes. The compote was a little tart and went nicely with the pancakes and cream.
