Not overly impressed with having to provide a credit card so they could charge a $150 bond although I paid in full when booking, was told it wouldn't be deducted from my account but it was. I did get it returned in the morning however. Am told it does say when booking but we have not yet found this information. The room itself was fine, the bathroom however was extremely outdated. Little to no pressure in the shower, shower head was at eye level, and I'm short, dirt & grime build up around the taps & the toiletries provided were already used. Generally in poor condition. No extra toilet paper either. The only saving grace, why it's not a one star, was that the lady at check-in with the accent, really did her best to keep us happy. We won't be back though unfortunately. ?

Excellent hotel with respected, loving, friendly staff. Dispute the fact that I have OCD, the room was completely and fully clean. I didn't have to rinse the plates or cups before using them because they were that clean! The towels, bedding, and other cloths within the room were also very clean. The showering system is just great, having strong warm water pumping out, making you freshen up well. This hotel is also located in a very good location. It isn't far from the mall where you could shop at kmart and pak n sav (approx 15 mins - going left from the main street), the park and botanic gardens, as well as the Al Noor (An Nur) Mosque (All at same direction, going right from the main street - 15 minutes), and if you walk further after the botanic gardens, you can also explore the museum and the rest of the city with a lot of other memorial and historic places, as well as shopping centres. Went away for my birthday and wanted to stay in a nice place but did not receive this. Not value for money here, for maybe $50 more you could stay in a lot nicer place. Not going to be going back, do not recommend if you're wanting to stay somewhere nice. Location was good and close to the centre of town without being right in the middle, all though a little small the shower pressure was pretty good, liked the free parking. Even before arrive there were issues, I said that we were going to pay on arrival or departure and they asked for my bank details on the website which was standard but the money came out a day and a half before arrival date. They also charged more than the agreed amount which was extremely strange. On arrival I felt quote profiled, I was asked for ID which I was like okay that's alright but I had never been asked for ID when staying at any other accommodation that I had stayed at before. They also asked for my bank card and forced us to pay a $150 bond that was NOT mentioned prior to stay so was extremely thrown off by this. Instead of it being a transaction, the card was taken and card number, name on the card and CV number was taken and put into a computer which personally is extremely strange, this money isn't due to come back in for a few days and I am concerned it may not although we treated the room well. When we were given our room when we first got in it looked good and it was nice but the longer we were there the more that started to just feel very average. There was cracking and crumbling paint in the back room and in the bathroom there looked like there was scum or something growing in the back of the room also. There was a used shampoo, conditioner or body wash left on the bar going over top of the glass door of the shower which made me think they don't fully check the rooms very well or change them very well when it comes to cleaning of the rooms. When we turned the main room light on it was extremely poor! The bed side lights and room back light were significantly brighter this was disappointing. There was also only one switch in the bathroom which was for both the light and fan which became extremely annoying especially at night when we were getting ready to go out and we had to have the light on as that's where the only mirror was and the fan is going off and you can hardly hear the person next to you. We left briefly on the Saturday morning came back and the room had been cleaned, and although this is nice of them we were never told that they were going to come in and clean, all our belongings had been moved and I felt like our personal space had been invaded and violated. If they had asked if we wanted our room cleaned I would have said no. The rooms were also very poorly sound proofed, I could hear people each morning/day talking from in our room with the door and curtains shut. Overall not worth it personally.

Great accommodation with a convenient conference venue. Ample space and very helpful staff.

A very clean and stylish hotel. Don't get fooled by the small size of this place since it has all to offer for a nice stay. The parking lot in front can be used to park your car overnight. Overall a good place to stay for a couple of nights. Sure be coming back to this place.

Room smelled and had mould around windows. Having stayed here many times before was very disappointed..

Really good place close to the Riccarton westfield mall and Hagley park. Walking distance.. Available inside parking spaces. Lots of restuarents and cafes aroud there. Good clean place with nice staff.
