β β β β β Compare with others yha, red kettle is unique. Living room feel like at home. Rooms cling on each other so backpackers need to keep quite at all way in case noise will disturb others.

β β β β β Sandy was really helpful letting us stay here for a small school camp. It was like a home away from home in a relaxed and secure setting. We would love to stay again but would bring some larger serving bowls to cope with our numbers. Thanks Sandy, Ginger and Shadow for giving us such a great base to explore the Waitaki from.

β β β β β The painting (sheeps) in room are cute and feel like we are visiting our auntβs house. The kitchen is small but have everything we need. Yha in Oamaru is small compare to those big city yha.

β β β β β Stayed here end September 2016. Lovely place! The lady that took care of us was accommodating. Comfortable beds and clean everything really. WiFi was available. Kitty and doggo are the cutest. A quieter YHA that feels homely.

β β β β β they forgot our booking. put us I a shared room. we arrived, wet, on motorbikes, we were told that we could use the drier to dry our clothes but then she locked the laundry door. this delayed us in the morning because we couldn't go until our clothes were dry. not a great experience.

β β β β β This is a total unpleasant experience! The owner is rude and coming into our room regularly to check whether the heater is on without even have the door knocked (using key to come in directly without sorry). She saying that we are using the heater too much causing her too much expenses and tell us to leave the next day which is very unacceptable because the room is cold and it is still winter. We have paid for this stay but not for this kind of services.

β β β β β We booked with hostel world and there was a problem with our reservation. The owner find a solution even if she didn't have any private room available. We felt so warmed welcome, really recommend this place: good price, super clean, extra blankets,... Thank to the owner for everything!
