★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice little ride, but don't risk you life by trying to ride to Te Aunau. 5km is on the highway riding with cars. The are working on completing the trail but it's not ready yet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The route starts from the parking lot and ends around the Possum Lodge. Takes around 30-40 mins return. Personally think this is better than Te Anau lake view as fewer people come and more serenity you enjoy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a strip of beach on the lake Manapouri which is very rarely frequented, so if you find yourself here you might just find it all to your self or sharing it with a couple others at best.
There is no overnight camping at this beach and there are no facilities (toilet etc.) but it's beautiful and gives you a lovely view of the Kepler mountains around. A great place to watch a sunset!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place for biking and BBQ. There are benches that you can use and campfire place. There are not many people around since Manapouri is small town. You can find some toilets here too but don't expect much. Nice for chilling and going into a water. But there are many many many sandflies so definitely don't forget repellent against them. Beach is with stones not sand! ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Park here to begin your trek (instead of parking at Pearl Harbour because the track at the latter is unclear). A good short trek, takes only 1 hour return via same track. We enjoyed the tranquility and closeness to the beach. During the track, you will get plenty of tree shade.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoyable even with winter just around the corner great for the kids to burn off some energy and good for a stroll. Picture perfect weather not a breathe of wind. Just note that there are sandflies so take the insect repellant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Part of the Lake2Lake cycle track. All clearly sign posted. I walked which was great as could then benefit from the many off tracks. The one I especially liked was a detour to Lake Track. Lots of board walks which a kind soul had constructed for trampers like myself.
