β β β β β Highly recommend to visit. Place has gone through some great upgrades since last visited. Advice to respect the caves and the history of the whenua (land). Clean restrooms, and rest place. Tour guides extremely helpful in taking our group through the caves. Be prepared to sing a song as well during one of the stops. Great experience.? No photos until the end of the tour.

β β β β β The cave experience was fantastic but becareful of losing your payment card at the payment desk because of the gaps in the decking. Staff would not listen to a simple solution of putting a mat to avoid this for there patrons.A bit of a damper.

β β β β β Fantastic, our tour guide was Wi and he was awesome, informative and comedic. We were a whΔnau of 3 adults, 2 teens and 2 children and we all had an amazing time. We learnt so much about the history in a fun way. Highly recommend coming for a visit, we also had lunch here which was delicious.

β β β β β Kia Ora,
Waitomo Glowworm Caves is a very popular spot in North Island of NZ, this and three more caves have a species of Glowworm which emit light through bioluminescence process.
We started from Auckland around morning 08:30 and reached caves parking area at 10:54 a.m. Drive is very nice, its countryside drive once you have crossed Hamilton towards NgΔhinapΕuri.
We booked our tickets online to reserve our preferred slot tickets else would have to wait sometime in case tickets on spot would get sold out. It get busier during school holidays and weekends. Its entrance is classy and itβs a photographic spot for visitors.
Our tour guide name was "Tui" and was brilliant guide, she explained us about how name originated for this place as "Waitomo". Its named after MΔori heritage, wai - water and tomo- hole, right from the start of the tour, Tui explained our group at each point the significance and the scientific reason behind the spot, she also sung an awesome MΔori song with our group. Once we saw the points inside the caves where calcium formation Loved the glow worms, caves and boat ride
Great to know about the history of this beautiful place. In-all itβs a wonderful experience and if it would have an option of 10 stars, I will give 10.
