β β β β β Used the Hitch hire car in Queenstown, received fantastic service, very reasonably priced, pick up from and to airport was very quick. I was surprised at the cost compared to other companies as it was so cheap but I cannot fault any of the service received and the car was exactly what we expected and nice and clean! Would definitely recommend.

β β β β β Hitch car rental service was excellent. The staff were friendly, provided a very reliable car so there was no hassle for our six days trip and they are the cheapest in Queenstown. I will have no hesitation to use them next time and recommend to my friends.

β β β β β Staff are very friendly and easy to deal with. Even though vehicle that we got is already 4 years old, it is in good clean condition and still drives like new. The car is actually the same car that we rented from another company when we last visited Queenstown Nov 2015. What are the odds. ?
Pick up from airport and back is quick and easy. Forgot something in the car and they immediately delivered it at the airport in 15 minutes.
Value for money and definitely at the top of my list on our next visit to Queenstown. ?

β β β β β The whole process from airport pick up to collecting the vehicle was easy. The staff were friendly and efficient and the Mazda 3 was a great little car for 2 people including golf clubs. The return was equally easy with prompt delivery back to the airport.
The rates were much cheaper than most competitors. I would definitely recommend Hitch Car Rentals in Queenstown.

β β β β β Hitch is a nice and easy car rental company to deal with. I did all my booking online and when we arrived we called them and they sent a vehicle to pick us up at the Airport to take us to the depot and pick up the car. When dropping off the car, the same process. Strait forward and fuss free. Cost was good and the car was in good condition and clean. Overall a very good experience.

β β β β β Booked day before for a one day hire online. Everything went great. Took awhile to find a car rental which would let me hire for the next day so was very happy with that as I had an emergency.
Staff were lovely, but had a bit of a wait for my car as it was being washed. So got the rental half an hour later... Given I was picking up from their offices and not waiting for a pick up at the airport. Other than that it was great. Place gets real busy, so might help to go a bit early when picking up or dropping off...

β β β β β Me and my partner have just been through an hour long process to return our rental car to hitch Queenstown and to say I am furious is an understatement.
When we pick up our rental car on Friday the petrol tank was not full, we notified staff and were told just to return it at the same level.
When we returned it to today (45 min earlier than required luckily).
We first had to wait 30min while the staff served 2 other customers and tried to get a mini van going which clearly had a flat battery and by no means should be sent out with anyone until replace.
Once that was done, the girl check our car said it was not full and that we would have to go fill it up and that it was not the same as at pick up.
So to save a credit card charge we went and wasted another 15 minutes and mon y which was unnecessary had the car been full in the first instance.
We then waited in the office for another 10 minutes while staff went in and out off the office and said nothing to us.
Finally the office girl who had been dropping people at the airport arrived back to drop us to the airport. Another 10 minutes while we waited for them to check other cars and people bringing them back before being able to drive us to the airport. All your staff could say was Iβm sorry were very busy today, and oh do you need to go to the airport?! Which is unacceptable.
Now instead of going and enjoying a coffee and relaxing before my flight as I had expected I am now going straight to my gate to clear security and board my flight.
Extremely stressful and frustrating end to what has been a relaxing enjoyable weekend away.

β β β β β I was very unhappy with this hire car. First of all the car was terrible to drive (Mahindra) and had no real power. It was dirty when provided to us and the fuel gauge was not on full (wish I had taken a photo). I had to wipe the interior of the car down with disinfectant wipes.
I also added on a 'baby' seat which was a huge mistake. The car seat that was provided was filthy, stained and completely inappropriate for a baby. It might be suitable for an older child eg toddler, but my three month old screamed the whole way to our accommodation, as the seat had no support. I should have returned it straight away. The safety aspect of this is a concern as it doesnβt say on the website the age for the baby seat, just that it is required for infants to 3 year olds. I hired a car seat from Tots on Tour and it was much more suitable.
It was inconvenient to have to call and shuttle it to their location. I would not hire from Hitch again, even if it was a fair bit cheaper. I'd rather pay the money for safety, cleanliness and convenience.
