★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stunning surprise, a must dinning experience! We have visited many visible local pubs, cafe and restaurants, but the lads at The Fox & Hounds food & service are onto a winning formula! My tip is to now focus on atmosphere and try new music, classic jazz, smooth soul sounds or some old english classic background music. Favourite hidden gem is my No,1 pick in Taupo! Best ever oven roasted Salmon with veg and the lightest & tastiest of sauces, my partner was served chicken salad, we are so impressed we will return with guest locals to share in our favourite restaurant in Taupo. Our hosts are 10/10!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 4 stars as nothing is perfect but this was close. Very relaxed kitchen. Nothing like a Ramsey kitchen but excellent results. Good on you guys.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The wait form ordering and getting our food was a bit long and yhe place was not busy,, but the food was good.. i got a chicken burger on the speicals board, it was full of the sauce, yes i have liked the flavour of the sauce, but it should have been a condiment and not so full and dripping. The chicken was very crunchy and i would have liked to have tasted it and not the sauce. I also think for a chicken burger, it was over priced.. maybe and $18 and not a $25.. seems too steep. My beer was warm, yet my partners was cold and was fogging up which you would expect... mine did not. My partners meal was fantastic, not too much sauce and she really enjoyed it.. so im giving maybe 1 star more then deserved.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For an English pub? spring rolls entree were dark brown thick hard pastry with mince in awful. Pizza base was hard lik e i wondered if supermarket bought. Not offered anything else when i complained, They did not care just argued with customer stated "we are not an Asian restaurant" when i said springs were awful yeah but they serve Asian food? I didn't see many customers just us for the most part

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thank you for a lovely meal and atmosphere on Saturday night. The food was yummy. Fish and chips, bangers and mash and butter chicken was throughly enjoyed by our group. Prices were also resonable. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the Bangers and Mash, wife had the Lamb shanks. Food was good, but could have been better. Bangers could have been butcher style instead of Hellers style everyday. But in general, food was acceptable for a pub meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service was good and enjoyed the dishes we chose. Bar was noisy with one group of 6 dominant. Disappointed that staff did not shut them up as dining area was 2/3 rds full and didn't need to be distracted.
