About Edgewater Restaurant
Edgewater Restaurant is apart of Millennium Hotel and Resort Manuels, Taupo's only hotel right on the lakefront with uninterrupted views.
Manuels resort dates back to October 1968 when owner Mr. Ron Lyne brought the old Edgewater fishing lodge which was built in the 1930's. In those days you still put your shoes outside the door to be cleaned, and tea plus bread & butter was offered to all guests in your room by maid service at 6.30am every morning.
At 6.00pm each evening, a three-course set menu was announced by the sound of a dinner gong for those in house residents who all came at once, ate, then returned for the lounge for coffee and biscuits.
From here, the Hotel underwent many changes and the one dining room was built into two, creating the Beach 243 and the Edgewater Restaurant.
Our Lakefront Lounge bar was refurbished and designed into a place where you can relax and enjoy the best of Lake Taupo.

The food is the best with a spice of good customer service, Our dinner was well done! Our entry meal was just about a good few minutes. The main course was just amazing too.

..very long waiting time for food waitress was not pleasant at all..such a shame as lovely decor and setting..will definitely not be returning ?

Overall it was very disappointing, bland food.
The location is lovely.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Husband and I stayed three nights and ate at the restaurant for breakfasts and dinners. Excellent chef as food was delicious and well presented with gourmet sauces and spices. They were training a whole new staff crew but they were under good supervision by experienced, friendly restaurant staff. Outdoor tables could do with a spruce up but indoors is classy

To say we were delighted is an understatement. This dish was full of amazing flavours and the serving as a main was perfect for both my husband and myself.
Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo, because we couldn't wait to make a start.
Great vegan option.
