These people charged my card $2000 and left us without a vehicle!!!! We haven’t even heard back about a refund!!!! Apparently if you are associated to someone that’s on their system, they won’t give you a car. DO NOT HIRE FROM THEM!!! Below they say they’re tending to the matter but it’s been nearly 5 days and still haven’t heard from them!!

Easy to deal with despite issues with the website may have been me or a site glitch. Was given an upgrade as they had no smaller cars left ended up with a Nissan Juke 1.0 it was a surprisingly good vehicle well spec'd. Easy hand over and the slight scuffs on the wheels noted.

Over 2 weeks and no update - We hired a car from Sixt and got the max insurance we could through them - the first guy at CHCH airport was great very chatty. When we arrived for some reason the price didn't match what i had ordered online but it was a few $$ extra so no worries - just went with it as no one could actually explain why it was different from my booking email. On the first day we got a chip in the windscreen - I immediately called the CHCH office and was advised if it was within the mms on the check docket and not within in eyeline not to worry and we could drive the car until we returned it 2 days later. I have now been told that the window screen needs replacing - I spoke with Cameron (regional manager) who advised the chip was borderline - I would be under the understanding that if its borderline and not by law required to be replaced they would be upto SIXT to pay - with it being borderline i would like to go for the $80 repair not forfitting my $250 excess. 2 weeks ago I asked for a report from the repairer stating that it legally needed to be changed - however I am still yet to receive this simple request. I was told that the car couldn't be used without the replacement as it wasn't safe - however SIXT where happy for me (being pregnant) and my husband to drive around in it for 2 days????? I have been waiting sometime to write the review as i was hoping for the requested information or at least a telephone call. Definitely recommend looking for a company that has good reviews on communication and also a $0 excess - SIXT does not offer this. Pretty disappointed given I haven't actually asked for much isn't proof of the replacement over repair being needed.

Avoid this company at all cost! Very bad experience with this company - car wasn't ready on pick-up, they also forgot about the carseat hire. On returning the car they checked over the car and found a mark on the wheel rim which we didn't do. They told us to count ourselves lucky as we had insurance on the car ($250 ex). There was also another customer also turning a vehicle at the same time and he also got pulled up for a stone chip on the window which he had to pay for. Both of us left know we would never use them again. If you do hire from this company I would take a good 10 minutes to find any imperfections with it before you sign. When we arrived from the airport with a small child and the car wasn't ready, car seat not installed we were in a hurry to get to where we were going so we did rush the check inspection. There is more professional companies to use out there - keep looking.

We had a great experience with the team at Sixt on our most recent holiday. Great service from the team at the desk (Alex I think her name was). We found the kiosk easily, received our car and were away on our adventure in no time! The vehicle itself was modern and extremely comfortable. There was so much tech crammed into it the car practically drove itself. Overall a great experience that definitely beats driving around in an underpowered rav 4 or other small SUV. European cars are a real delight to take on the open road. Just read some of the other reviews on here - make sure you check over any rental car for damage before you drive away on it. I've always done this with my Sixt rentals and added any extra curb marks & pinhole dents to the damage sheet before driving away as it is my responsibility to do so.
