Welcome to our brand new and improved online store, now home to both The Furniture Store & The Bed Shop! Here you will find an extensive range of gift ideas, homeware, mattresses, beds, furniture and lots more!
Established in 2001, The Furniture Store remains locally owned and operated. Between us (the two owners) we have over 40 years experience in the industry, both overseas and here in New Zealand. Having worked in larger retail stores we understand that quite often once a transaction is made, customers are left with the feeling of a ‘couldn’t care less’ attitude from the retailer. It was because of this attitude we decided to focus on good ‘old fashioned’ service, with friendly and helpful staff to assist you at every one of our Auckland branches.
Our prices are very competitive, because over the years have built up good relationships with our suppliers to enable us to take advantage of discounts which we pass on to our customers. We have also decided that we would not advertise in print, radio or television, but rely on word of mouth from our customers. These savings have allowed us to keep our prices lower than most of our competitors, amounting to huge savings for our regular customers.
We are a very unique store, so if possible try to take a few minutes to visit us and experience not only the huge product range we offer, but also to enjoy some old fashioned service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is a male sales person super rude! I think he seems like the manager maybe sit inside the cashier desk! Was in store checking an item a bought during sale. Whether I can exchange as it was too big. I was just checking and would understand if owner won't exchange. However, this guy said to me:" you got it on sale, what do you want!" So rude!! No wonder it is now closing down!

No courtesy to introduce themselves , or telling about the company . I was late 3 minutes cause I went to the wrong direction and there are 100 furniture store and they didn’t even give me a number to contact them so I could let me know I’ll be 3 minutes late !!!
and they came to the interview 10 min late ,
I was shocked they didn’t even introduce themselves , interviewing me while other customers were around and not even a small office .
Picked up on one spelling mistake instead of asking me about my experiences and telling me why did you pay someone to make your cv? Get refund!! very unprofessional and childlike...
I was having a fever just a night before the interview and yet I made an effort to go there while I felt I had no temperature in the morning.
I have drive 30 min to be there and I have never had such a experience like this since I moved to NZ, I feel terrible for the people who are work for them and I was having an interview for a store manager position !!!
Imagine how they would treat their sales person staff.
They left the interview without thanking my time or saying good bye!! Called me rude that I came to the interview while I was sick a night before !!!
Asking me why am I sweaty ? Cause they were extremely rude and made me uncomfortable ...
Very very very very rude ! Don’t know how they manage their businesses. I’m horrified for the staff working for them. Just a waste of time. super unprofessional and had no courtesy or whatsoever ..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just got our bedroom furniture, a couple chairs and a few smaller items here.
Good quality but we ended up with two bedside tables that would not fit in our room after basing our calculations on the measurements provided by the store staff to us. They took away the bedside tables but will choose to not to refund any money since they will blame it on us. They have tried to use as proof they made no mistake the measurements they sent us in the invoice at the time of the delivery, which obviously makes no sense. So we are stuck with store credit that amounts 20% of their sale but that we cannot really use at the moment since there's nothing we would really want to get from them right now. Really hoping they can change their minds.
On the other hand the bed was promised to be assembled on delivery, which could not happen according to them due to Auckland L3 restrictions. The assembly was far more convoluted than explained and even a screw broke due to it being larger than the piece it was supposed to go in. I asked the staff to send someone to fix the problem since we needed the bed, which they did right away and which I sincerely appreciate.
