About Waitomo Glowworm Caves
The Waitomo Homestead Cabins are the perfect place to stay in Waitomo. Located just 10 minutes from the famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves, with comfortable beds, modern facilities and a beautiful villa and gardens, to relax, enjoy nature and get a good night’s sleep.
Our two-bed and four-bed Cabins are suitable for couples, families and friends looking to immerse themselves in the local charm of the Waitomo region. Set amongst the rural rolling hills of the Waikato, a stay at the Waitomo Homestead Cabins is a true escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
When you’re not exploring the cave networks of Waitomo, spend time playing board games on the villa’s sunny deck, enjoying the onsite Homestead Restaurant and gardens or reading a book on your cabin porch.

A comfortable, private bed
Spacious king single beds with double duvets can be found in all rooms, with the four-bed bunk rooms also having privacy screens. USB and power points can be found by all beds.
Shared bathroom facilities
Bathrooms are large, private and equipped with hot and powerful showers, toilets, sinks and large mirrors. You’ll also find an accessible toilet/shower and coin-operated laundry facilities.
Central, communal kitchen and living area
The villa is home to a fully functioning kitchen (including all utensils!), communal relaxing areas, a selection of board games for you to enjoy and a large sunny deck.
Homestead Restaurant and gardens
The Homestead Restaurant and gardens are a stone’s throw from the cabins. Don’t miss out on the $3 pies!

β β β β β We very enjoyed our experience here once we arrived til we left. We had our own tour guide and boat , which made the tour quite peaceful and not rushed . Loved the glow worms, caves and boat ride. Will highly recommend.

β β β β β Had Glen(n?) as our tour guide, he was very knowledgeable and gave lots of interesting facts about the cave. Due to a historical bad flood in March(?) though, there weren't as many glowworms as there had been before, which is a main attraction for many who come to see it, and it might not look as amazing as it does on the pictures. The boat ride and the cave itself was nice though. Recommend getting the combo deal with Ruakuri Cave as it more than makes up for what you might have missed in the Waitomo Cave.

After travelling overseas for 30 years there are very few things that come close to competing with this enchanting, spectacular place. Had our own private tour from superb guide Wii had great knowledge and direct connection to the caves through his ancestors. Brilliant day!

β β β β β Loved every moment. It was great to learn the history and how the caves were used in the past by MΔori but also how it was cared for. Loved the scientific history as well and how the caves were formed but more so looking at the beautiful glow worms, it was truly an experience. Last but not least our tour guide Christian was awesome! The kids loved everything about our trip to the caves.

We went not long after a terrible flood which sadly washed out many of the glow worms but there were still heaps to see and the guides who took us through the caves have come from generations of family members who originally found the caves and have been holding the tours throughthe gaves for many, many years. If you want any experience with caves and glow worms I highly recommend Waitomo Glow Worm Caves!

β β β β β Wonderful experience, Guides to tell about the cave and give instructions. Good service. Restaurant available with in the permises.Boat ride was exciting with pitch black surrounding? and glow worms?. Shops inside with collections. But too costly.
