★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed here for 2 nights.worst motel in our 2 .5 week in north land.i have no problem with the age of this motel (they are old).but have not been in a motel for a long time that was in need of a major housekeeping clean.curtains and bedspread stunk.the net curtain over the sink was filthy.my pillow stunk of sweat.on reflection I should have got a new one from the office.chopped plates cracked glasses.on the balcony a pottery pot filled with cigarette butts.however the stuff in the office were lovely and have no complaints about them.please clean it up.it is in an ideal location to go to destinations up north

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the Worst Motel experience in New Zealand in last 25 years.
Booked one unit in Wayfarer and four units in their next-door Beach comber for 2 nights. The night we arrived, all 5 of our parking places were occupied by some other cars and we went to the reception spoke to the manager but after 5 minutes she came back to say that she can’t find the owners of the cars. We 4 families had to park out 80 meters away from the motel in an insecure area and had to carry out all our stuff with young kids. The light bulbs were not working in the showers and they didn’t have bulbs to replace, Microwave was faulty as well.
Next morning, we went to the reception and we explained the inconvenience caused the night before due to no parking and light bulbs and faulty microwave and requested the daytime manager Carol to sort them out before we return in the evening. Some how Carol fixed the light bulbs and micro wave but the time we returned in the evening, all of our parking spaces were occupied by some other cars again. We went to the reception again, this time there was a new manager and she was hopeless, instead of listening to us about the bad experience we were going through because of no parking, she just advised us to leave the motel if we didn’t like it, very rude. Us four families were in shock at her behavior. We booked these 3 months in advance. We will never go to this place, Wayfarer and Beach comber, again. We don’t recommend it to anyone. Again, it was a very, very bad experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Place is dated and in need of a revamp. Shower water was really weak, and cutlery was a bit dirty. The beds were clean and comfortable. The owner is lovely and hospitable. There’s a a good size swimming pool which the kids enjoyed. Also within short walking distance to restaurants and other restaurants and takeaways.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was clean, certainly not worth the price as pool closed and spa 184 dollars, there are better deals, do check other lodging places, i took the word of a lical barperson whod suggested this motel, her sister worked there, blimmen local husslers, abit disappointing, would have preferred all facilities to be open when only afew people staying there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a old worn out place. Service is ok but the accomodation is not worth living. Old shower was very risky to operate as it was very difficult to adjust water temp. Hardly any cutlery provided. Needs complete renovation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Toilet was spoiled had to flush - could not access tv - toilet light did not work - cistern system seemed to continually sound. Shower was cold or cold . Worse sleep . Very amateurish and still got charged full price . Fffs attitude was must tell handy man. .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Staff were accommodating at short notice considering all the accommodation had been booked out for the Easter weekend
They brought in extra bedding and blankets for the extra Family that otherwise would of had no where to sleep.
We found the staff helpful rooms were of standard and advised they are doing a change over of names so updating of the establishment will be forth coming.
Handy location.
Easy parking outside room.
Plenty of tea, coffee, towels
We had two rooms between us
Both rooms had what you needed in a room whilst away.
