★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Far better than expected. We spend last night at Chateau and were impressed by the pretty room and by all the great amenities. Nice spa for us alone, a gym, two well equipped kitchens, yummy free soup, nice breakfast in the morning. Everything really clean and original in style. Really friendly manager

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cannot recommend this hostel enough. The beds are super comfortable so you get a decent night of sleep. You also have access to hot tub, gym area and there’s also a tv with Netflix on it. Unlimited WiFi is also included and it’s pretty decent. In the evening you get veggie soup. In the morning you get the most amazing breakfast - I ate so many pancakes! The staff are super friendly and can give advice on what to do in the area. Overall, we’ve had a great experience here. If you’re in the area, well worth staying here - you get a lot for your money.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You get so much for the price that you pay compared to some other places in NZ. We stayed in a private room with ensuite. It was clean, comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, the free breakfast had plenty of options, the wifi was good, and the free soup was delicious. They also had plenty of board games for those rainy days and the shared spaces are quirky and beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great accommodation, stayed in the double private room and it was excellent, very comfy bed as well. Free soup for dinners, free breakfast. Only bummer was the laundry room, washer and dryer didn’t do the best job. But other than that, excellent stay!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing stay, very homely. Love the rustic vibe. Friendly staff and free breakfast and soup! Beds were comfy. Lots of lounges and areas to relax. And a beautiful view of the mountains. Great job guys, highly recommended ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great staff, it has great facilities. It is a bit run down and the spiders have a safe home, but that's understandable with the lack of customers due to Covid lockdowns. We would definitely stay again ☺️
