We’ve been doing this for a while now. In fact, we’ve been the store of choice for New Zealand men for decades (since 1972 actually) outfitting them for daily life, unforgettable milestones, and everything in between. We’re pretty chuffed to have been doing this so long, and we still prioritise the good stuff like quality, understated style and true value as much as the day we started.

You can find our stores nationwide, everywhere from Newmarket to New Plymouth. All of them boast our carefully considered range of quality apparel, footwear and accessories - everything you need, nothing you don’t. Barkers is here for your first job, that ultimate promotion, your big day, and your morning after. You can come to us for everything from that handsome winter coat (the best way to look respectable) to those trackpants you wear every Sunday. We have new gear and old favourites dropping regularly, so stop by and see us at any of our stores nationwide, or shop online without even leaving the couch.

Feel like Barkers has been around for ages? So do we. We’ve been using our know-how to fine tune the wardrobes and lifestyles of men around the country since 1972, when founder Raymond Barker opened “Raymond’s”. It was a time when Kiwi blokes were waking up to style (sideburns and the colour brown were popular) and our spot on Auckland’s High Street was one of the first stores in New Zealand dedicated to men’s fashion. We’ve come a long way since then - especially our sideburns. That store may be ancient history, but one of our newest flagships sits proudly across the road, joined by 26 stores nationwide.

Speaking of stores, we’ve upped our game in the past few years actually, with world class service and uniquely tailored environments to give you that one-of-a-kind experience. As a distinctly local business, we’re constantly inspired by the unique talent that surrounds us in this small country.
