★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I hiked here in 1992. Got a shuttle from Wanaka up the river valley, and there was a trail up to the saddle. Had a night in a tent, with views of Mt Aspiring and the Dart Glacier. Hike continued down the Rees-Dart track. Wonderful trip. Saw keas up here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A magnificent piece of countryside, with fantastic view onto the Dart Glacier and its surrounding mountains and then there's the full panorama into the Matukituki valley and Mt Aspiring.
I did the walk up the Dart River and over the saddle come come out at Raspberry Creek 24 years ago and recreated this walk a few weeks ago. God's country.
