There is a Kea following our car and biting our tyre.
There are also someone sell fresh hot coffee.
This is your last stop before entering the long tunnel and steep final descent to Milford

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The drive through this valley, through the tunnel and then emerging on the other side provided some of the most breathtaking views I've ever seen. I'd almost say it was better than Milford Sound. Underrated to say the least.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Did this with my 21 yr old son last Friday, May 3. Sign says allow 4-6 hours but we made it to the saddle in about 2 hours. Difficult, dangerous but was one of the best day hikes of my life.
