★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our second stay at the Reef Resort, 3 nights for our wedding anniversary and still highly recommend this motel. Very clean, close to everything, a short walk to 2 Mile Bay Sailing Club and very reasonably priced. If you don't want to do anything but relax you can while away the hours around the heated pool or hot tub. Very definitely our go to place when stating in Taupo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Didn't end up getting to stay as our booking was screwed up by someone at this motel. I was absolutely disappointed to find out a room we had been promised would be held for us and I rang back 2 hours later to confirm it then to be informed 3 days later by an unfriendly unsympathetic woman on the phone that the room ended up being given to someone else. I have been extremely unwell and have had it on my bucket list for a long time to stay at this particular motel with the hot pool again like I did over 20 years ago with my darling Husband before my life dramatically changed due to a serious health condition. I am absolutely gutted and upset as there is now nothing similar available to book in the area. ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our first stay for a couple of nights at the Reef Resort, to celebrate my husband's birthday, and we weren't disappointed.
Our room was fantastic. Spotlessly clean, poolside room and had everything we needed. Bed supa comfy and great air con after the humidity of late.
Close to town where we enjoyed a couple of wonderful evening dinners.
Pool and Spa a bonus, again beautifully clean, we enjoyed a spa Sunday morning to start our day.
Peter the host was very friendly and obliging.
We will definitely be back for another weekend getaway. Highly recommend to family & friends.

From the efficient, hospitable and wonderful communication with Karen and Peter to the amazing unit my two friends and I had the pleasure to stay in for 2 nights. The location right on Lake Taupo meant we only had to venture out our front gate to be able to dip our toes into the water. Our unit had everything to make our stay so enjoyable - even a proper coffee machine. It was spotlessly clean, warm, safe and the pool and hot tub were fantastic and also spotless. My friends and I cannot stop talking about what a wonderful place the Reef Resort is operated by an equally wonderful couple and team. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic stay for a long weekend - so much that we added an extra night. Great size room, pool area was relaxing and proximity to lake and township was perfect for a sunset stroll or picturesque walk. Hosts are friendly and accommodation was just what we needed, thanks!
