★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome! New Zealand sure is full of awesome hidden gems. These falls are a small walk from the road. If you slip past one of the rails you can walk carefully down right underneath the waterfall. Be cautious as can be slippery especially if it has been raining. Water is freezing so wouldn’t recommend getting wet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful tiered falls, enjoyed the walk, told it was pretty steep and that there are 180 steps but it was not as steep as I thought other than the initial decline, moss covered trees along the path and in the treetops above so looking very green and picturesque, steps all in good order.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice drive out in the country with awesome views of the mountains etc.
Nice and easy 5min bush walk with sets of stairs leading down to the viewing platform, there is also a side track at the viewing platform that you can go down to get a lower view of waterfall (but be careful as its very wet and slippery from over spray of water from waterfall)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice walk for everyone. The falls are great. And sounds powerful, if you like you can walk down the muddy path from the viewing gallery to floor level and stand at the base for added experience and photo angles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited 12 March 2022 and it was just wonderful! The walk in is through lovely bush and very quickly you can hear the falls. The falls are breathtaking and incredible! Well worth the time!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Although quite a way from other towns or activities it is definitely worth the drive to Waitanguru Falls. There is a nice grass area at the carpark with a picnic table. One thing to note is that the path is mostly stairs so accessibility isn't great. Definitely worth seeing if you're close!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful waterfall. Very near to Piopio. The road near the falls is gravel. Even if the road is gravel, a small car can make it. You can not miss the sign from date high. The track to the waterfalls is like 10 minutes. The track to the waterfall goes down and then up when you return. There is no toilets available. This is a must see in this region.
