Excellent short walk through beautiful native bush and beside a icy blue river. Take a torch/,headlamp for the tunnel. The track was blocked off at the end of the tunnel when we were there because a rafter had fallen so it was unsafe to continue.

really cool that they keep the tunnel open for people to walk through. the fact it's through solid rock and doesn't need bracing probably helps. many people walk through the tunnel barefoot to avoid soaking their shoes -- the water will be cold, but should be safe, and you'll get used to it. the glow worms are mostly on the far side of the tunnel rather than near the entrance, so you have to commit in order to see any. note that the tunnel isn't super tall, but someone like 6' can comfortably walk without having to hunch over. just wear a light hat if you're worried about bumping your head.

Nice and easy walk with great sceneries. The track is surrounded by mossy trees and a beautiful river. You will need a touch and gumboots if you are planning to go further inside the tunnels, water is about ankle height.

Lovely walk through the nature to the tunnel. Didn't bring my gunboats or walking shoes, so couldn't explore the tunnel

The walk is great although I’d recommend good hiking boots for the walk and gumboots for the tunnel. The last leg of the walk is quite steep in places and a very small rocky walkway so not recommended for young children or anyone unfit. The tunnel is now only open at one end (the walk track end) as the aqueduct at the other end is damaged and has been closed off.

Loved to explore the Tunnels. Take a headlight and some shoes that are ok with ancle high water. Have fun ?

Did not wear hiking shoes and did not expect the last leg of the hike prior to reaching the tunnel to be so difficult and treacherous. Please be prepared

A hidden gem - lots of fun for the family! We enjoyed the glowworms. Just watch out for the cold water on your toes if you're wearing jandalls!
