★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ample parking when you arrive early to beat the crowds. Setting is perfection. Bring water and sunscreen. Free trails to go on and plenty to see and do if you're up for an all day visit just ask the team.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very good visitor center. We could learn about national park and volcano. We visited there to have casual walk to Taranaki falls with my 5 years old kids. It was kind of hard to reach there with my kid however it was very good walking to enjoy the nature.

Lots of knowledge about Mount Ruapehu and its volcanic history.
It was our 4th time there and will definitely visit again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited the visitor centre just prior to starting out on tongariro northern circuit. Lady from DOC was really helpful, and advised me not to go because of poor weather conditions. She then helped me reschedule my plans for another week. I really appreciated the advice. Visitor centre itself has lovely displays, there’s a lot to see here!

I was appreciative of the help the front desk people provided when trying to plan our excursions. There's also clothing to purchase if you feel like you've gone to Tongariro ill prepared for your adventures.
