β β β β β UPDATE 2: I am told that they 'believe' and 'think' my order has been shipped since there no further change to the delivery date. However they can 't confirm it has been shipped and don't have any further details until closer to delivery date. Next status update scheduled for January 12th. Wonder whether they will say there is a delay in transit this time?
UPDATE: I was informed on Dec 15th that there is further delay to my order. New delivery timeline is early Feb ! That is 7 MONTHS from order date IF it gets delivered. When probed whether the delay is in manufacturing or shipping, the reason provided by the regional manager is that the ships are not stopping in New Zealand as it is more profitable elsewhere! Do you buy that? Surely one would have booked on the next available slot isn't it? But not in my case. She doesn't know the shipping date for the suite which is ready to be shipped and the customer care does not give the manager any more information! You might have to wonder how this company functions! They are LA Z y even in framing of their responses..If you want a this brand better order it from a good retailer like Harvey Norman, they won't have all the collections, but at least you can be sure of good customer care, fair trade practices and can get a refund if not happy. There is no consumer protection with the company owned stores. STAY AWAY from this chain!. Next update will be on 29th, wonder what excuse they come up with this time, take a guess!
This company has unfair Contract terms which favours them over the consumer and they collect 20% deposit upfront. Their customer care and management are bullies. I ordered a 3 + 2 +1 Nielson suite on 18th July with a lengthy delivery date of 20th Nov. Called on Nov 6th to enquire on the status, was told that there is a delay and order is likely to be fulfilled only in Jan (2 months later!). On top that they say new delivery date can only be confirmed closer to the time and can't guarantee that there will no further delays! The customer care hung up during the call while i was complaining, the lady Chantelle was rude. They didn't bother to inform that there is going to be a significant delay until I called to check the status. They have a standard LIE that they were just about to call!! On further research i found that they have done this to other people before when there was no Covid impact. It plays out in the exact same fashion they wait for the customer to call only to be told then at that point there is a delay and they were about to contact. In my case I even explained to them that we had had sold our existing furniture to accomodate for the new furniture and my wife needs good back support that's why we ordered their furniture. They have collected 20% deposit and won't return the deposit in full quoting their terms and conditions! As per the regional manager, the reason for the delay is Covid! This furniture is manufactured in China and China came out of lockdown in May / June. So it makes no sense for my order that was made in mid-July to get impacted by lockdown prior to that as the delivery dates were already adjusted! Be wary of these people, there is no single point of contact, I had to go from Store manager to Customer (don't) care to Regional manger with no acceptable solution in sight. Even after complaing they still havn't provided a delivery date for my furniture nor are they returning my deposit. Have to report to the Commerce Commission on their trade practices. Unscrupulous management to say the least.

β β β β β Great chair, problem is the time it took to get here. Excuse after excuse, blame Covid, blame container shortage, blame awaiting parts (?), you name it they'll blame it. Most aggravating is seeing the continuing ads for La z boy when they know full well they can't deliver. If you do order one then be prepared to wait, and wait, and wait....
