★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our recent trip to Queenstown was made very pleasurable, largely part to the 4wd vehicle that we hired from New Zealand 4WD Hire. Very good customer service and loved the way the car drove up the mountain.

We booked with 4WD but ended up getting a car through RaD (two different companies owned by same people apparently) - the picture I clicked on did not resemble the rent a dent we got. There were so many dents and scratches noted on the paperwork you could barely see the white paper. The car was old and tired.
First hill we go up the engine starts smoking so we phoned and told not to worry the car has just been serviced and it's the dripped oil burning off. A little nerve wracking when we’re going to be driving up ski field roads. Then notice that the car is not full with petrol it’s under 3/4 - we’re told at pick up it’s full to full.
I emailed Sunday to say we were not satisfied and no response by Wednesday so I emailed again patricia offered for us to drive back from Wanaka to collect another car but we were leaving Friday so no point really.
It was known we were unhappy but no apology or phone call.
Obviously not somewhere I would ever use again.
